"I came across this Web site by accident and am glad that I did. The customer service has been great in helping me make intelligent decisions for my purchases. I have been using the small Linear Gravity Pillow for a few weeks now for regular sleeping and love the way it feels. I started for the first week using the side where the neckroll is smaller. I then switched to the side that is slightly larger. I mainly use it for laying on my back, but I find it is equally comfortable in the sidelying position. I have noticed that my upper trapezius muscles are less sore/tense and that the twinge I would feel in my neck when rotating it sideways has decreased.The radiculopathy in my fingers has lessened slightly. Choosing the Right Neck Pillow.. I have a "Long Neck"
Hello, I am only 5'7" tall but I have a very LONG neck and I am wondering if I need to order the large pillow because of my long neck? I'm certain my neck is as long as many 6' tall people!
The problem I've had in the past with contoured pillows is that when my head is resting in the low spot, with my neck supported properly, my head is not actually centered in the low spot and therefore I feel pressure on top/back of my head from the other side of contour. I don't know if this makes sense? When I say contour pillow, I mean the Tempurpedic style that curves up and down but in looking at picture I see the possibility of same thing happening with your pillow.?-Ms.LongNeck
Dear Ms.LongNeck, Thank you for your email. It can be difficult to choose the right neck pillow. There are many variables that you have to consider. It is difficult to say which pillow is going to be okay for you. If you prefer to have a larger pillow- then order the large linear gravity pillow. The dimensions of this pillow are 21”x33”. The standard size pillow (which works for 90% of our customers) is of dimensions 20”x26”- a medium sized pillow.
I think from the way you have described your situation, the large linear gravity pillow would work better for you. Just keep in mind that the neck roll under your neck is going to be larger and bigger. But this will prevent the back of your head from hitting the top part of the other side of the pillow. Another option is to order the cervical traction neck pillow. This is a medium sized pillow with dimensions of 20"x26". I would recommend that you use the "V" side of the pillow, as this will give you a gentle stretch in your cervical spine while you are sleeping.
I hope this helps. Please note that every person is different and everyone is going to respond differently to a new neck pillow. We cannot guarantee that the large is going to be perfect for you. This is only my recommendation.
Which Neck Pillow would you Recommend for Numbness in the Fingers and Forward Head Posture?

Dear Janine, Thank you for your email. We have a variety of pillows on Arc4life.com. If you are experiencing numbness and tingling, I would recommend the cervical traction neck pillow because it will allow you to have good posture while sleeping. You will probably want to use the "V" portion of the pillow. To get the most traction, sleeping on your back, will give you the most traction.
The cervical traction neck pillow is also good for forward head posture. Forward head posture puts a lot of stress on the neck and upper back area. It is good idea to start doing some exercises that will help to decrease the forward head posture.
Unfortunately, the cervical traction neck pillow does not come in a smaller size. The pillow that does come in 3 sizes is called the Linear gravity neck pillow- this pillow comes in a small (17"x23"), medium (20"x26") and large(21"x33") size. It does not have the traction "v" side. Instead it has two different sized neck rolls. You can choose which roll is most comfortable for you. It is an excellent support pillow for your neck. Many of our customers who are of petite frame use this smaller linear gravity neck pillow because it allows them to keep their head and neck in alignment while sleeping.

The Cervical Traction Neck Pillow can be used for Support or Traction. For Neck Pain Relief most of our patients use the Traction or the "V" Side of the Pillow. To get maximum traction, use this pillow while sleeping on your back. Use a Knee Elevator for maximum comfort in your lumbar (low back) spine. It is best to sleep so that you are most comfortable, with your chin slightly tilting up. This allows you to the have the curve in your neck while you are sleeping.

Thank you for your email. Yes the Cervical traction neck pillow is safe for someone who has cervical disc degeneration or arthritis in the cervical spine. However, every patient is different, with different needs, & different sensitivities. I would say that most of our customers who order our cervical linear traction neck pillow and suffer with headaches and arthritis do very well with this pillow. Every once in a while, someone has a lot of pain and just cannot get used to the pillow support that this provides. For some patients it takes time to get used to using a new pillow. This pillow is not hard like foam, not soft like a feather pillow. It has special contours that will allow him to sleep on his side or on his back while putting his neck into the proper position.

If you have neck pain, reduced cervical lordosis, degernative disc, or other neck pain symptoms you can use the traction side of the pillow. Otherwise, use the support side (the side opposite the V). The Right Pillow for Sleep Apnea?
Hello! I am a past customer who uses the linear gravity neck pillow and the Pronex. I have a classmate who might have sleep apea. Would the cervical traction pillow be good for this? Do you know of customers who wanted a pillow for sleep apnea vs the usual reasons for getting a pillow (pain, etc)...She is trying to sleep on her back vs on the side (because being on the side causes her to lie on her arm which she is trying to avoid). Dear J.D, The pillow is good for a side sleeper too. I would rotate the pillow 180 degrees – giving you the support side without the "V". This will keep your neck spine level. The V is best used when on your back and when someone rolls during the night they often move to the wings of the pillow.

Question about a Pillow + Shipping to Canada
Hello, hope you are having a good day! I would like to order the "cervical linear traction neck pillow" soon (I am in much pain!) Three questions have I for you:
- Other pillows I've tried have been too big, and caused too much pull or stretch in my neck: I am 5'4 and slender...how can your pillow suit my body as well as, say, a 180 pound man? This seems odd, based on the idea of proportions. I feel it might just be too big for me and cause too much of a stretch, or lift my head up too high...
- Do you have any distributors in Canada, so the shipping costs won't be as staggering to me?
- I have never been diagnosed with "military neck" and I don't know what my problem is, exactly, other than there is a lot of pain in my neck, head and shoulders...I FEEL your product would work well, but is it specifically for a specific KIND of pain or misalignment, or will it help to correct misalignments, period?

Dear S.B, The cervical traction neck pillow should be fine for you at 5'4". If someone has a short neck and/or is 5'0" or less we recommend the linear gravity small pillow.

I just received my pillow yesterday. I had a question about how to position it when i sleep. I'm assuming i sleep on it positioned with the V facing me not upside down right? The harder part is supposed to be under my neck correct? I wasn't sure if i shoudl have flipped it to sleep with the softer part under my neck....please advise..i want to make sure i get the max benefit for my sore neck and shoulders. .
Dear M.W: The "V" part of the Cervical Traction neck pillow is the traction side and it is the firmer part of the pillow. If you find this comfortable, then use the pillow like this because it will give you maximum benefit. If it is too firm, then use the softer support side of the pillow to begin with. Please keep in mind that mild soreness is normal after sleeping on the pillow for some of our patients- because it may be a new position for your neck. Also, you may want to use the traction side of the pillow for a small amount of time and slowly increase the time you use it. So for example, use it for 30 minutes, then go back to your old pillow OR use the support side of the pillow which is a softer support.

I received my Cervical Linear Traction Neck Pillow a few days ago, thank you for the quick service! I wonder if you have a smaller version available. This seems much too thick for me, I'm rather short and very tender since I'm waiting for surgery to replace 2 ruptured cervical discs. The traction pillow is created purposely to give you a stretch in your neck. My suggestion would be to try the pillow for a few more nights in small increments of time. It is the best pillow for a patient with cervical discs and may even help you after your surgery because it puts the neck into the proper c-curvature (cervical lordosis). Also, switch it up with your regular pillow OR sleep on the other side of the pillow (which is for support of the neck). If the pillow still does not work, and you wish to return it, please email us- it is not an issue at all. Finally, you mentioned that you are a candidate for surgery. Another non surgical option for cervical disc if you are a candidate is non surgical spinal decompression. Like I said, not everyone is a candidate- so you have to locate a Dr that uses this special technology in his/her office and have a proper consultation/examination. Also, have you tried to use traction therapy for your cervical spine?- a tool such as the cervical traction posture pump 1000 or the Pronex Cervical Traction unit (it comes in 3 sizes) may be beneficial as well.
